A carpet steam cleaner is simply a machine that uses hot water or steam to clean any type of carpet or upholstery. Because the steam generated by a vapor steam cleaner has an extremely low moisture content the carpet being cleaned dries out in a matter of minutes. Once the carpet is dry a regular vacuum cleaner can be used to finish the job. For those who have allergies or want their carpets cleaned without chemicals having it professionally done with a vapor steam cleaner is the way to go.
Deciding between doing it your self or having you carpets professionally cleaned will ultimately come down to expense. Home carpet steam cleaners will run anywhere from 0 to 0 depending on the model and features. Professional cleaning on a regular basis can get expensive, to the point that you could pay for a home cleaner many times over.
